Popular Walmart ranch seasoning recalled nationwide over fears of life-threatening salmonella contamination

A POPULAR seasoning sold exclusively at Walmart has been pulled from shelves nationwide over fears of salmonella contamination.

The FDA reported that Blackstone Products from Utah is recalling some of its products that contain a powdered milk product that was previously recalled for the same reason.

This milk item was supplied to a third-party manufacturer and used in the seasoning.

Several Blackstone Parmesan Ranch products have been removed from shelves and shoppers are urged to check their pantries for any affected items.

According to the FDA, the recalled items were sold only through Walmart and via the Blackstone website.

Item number #4106 of the Blackstone Parmesan Ranch 7.3oz seasoning products are affected.

Specifically, lot numbers 2025-43282, 2025-46172 and 2026-54751 with “best by” dates of July 2, 2027, Aug. 5, 2027, and Aug. 12, 2027, respectively.

Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause life-threatening infections in young children (under the age of five), the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.

The majority of people will become unwell within 8 to 72 hours of consumption and will recover within a few days to a week.

Symptoms include fever, stomach cramps and diarrhea but in more severe cases there can also be blood in the urine or stool, rashes, and headaches.

So far, no illnesses have been reported as a result of the affected seasoning products.

Anyone who finds a recalled item in their possession must immediately throw it away and can contact Blackstone Products for a replacement.
