Howdy, folks, and welcome to a four-game Gather Round Saturday.
After a couple of wet and soggy nights to kick off the Adelaide footy festival, we have checked the weather forecast and see there are still light showers hanging around the South Australian capital.
But who the heck cares? This is an outdoor sport. And we can deliver you all the cracking, bite-sized updates in today’s blog so that you can follow along from the warmth of a lounge room, or even sitting fireside in a pub.
My name is Danny Russell and I will walk you through the earlier games – North Melbourne versus Brisbane Lions in the Barossa, starting at 12.35pm, followed by Essendon taking on Melbourne at Adelaide Oval from 1.15pm.
After that, my esteemed colleague and footy expert Andrew Wu will plug in for the later games: Sydney v Goldcoast (Norwood Oval, 4.15pm), and Hawthorn v Western Bulldogs (Adelaide Oval, 7.35pm).
