A man who allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl in Brisbane’s CBD has been charged following a month-long investigation by police.
Police allege that a 49-year-old Riverview man sexually assaulted the teenager around Turbot Street and Wickham Terrace near Central Station between 3am and 4.50am on May 2.

The girl reported the assault to police later that day, and an extensive investigation was launched.
In a statement on Wednesday, police said a Riverview man was located and arrested on June 5 in relation to the incident, and later charged with one count of rape and sexual assault.
He was remanded in custody and was expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 15.
The man and the victim are not known to each other.
Police appealed for any pedestrians or drivers near Wickham Terrace and Creek Street between 2.30am to 5.20am on Saturday, May 2, to come forward.
