Capital gains tax, negative gearing changes on agenda as Treasurer Jim Chalmers prepares to flag  billion in savings

The key time to remember is 7.30pm. That’s when the budget papers are released, Treasurer Jim Chalmers begins his address, and all our reporting from inside lockup is published online.

From there, Chalmers will walk straight to the ABC’s Parliament House studio to give the customary 7.30 budget interview.
