Carlton are to be hit with a $75,000 financial sanction by the AFL as a result of their review of the circumstances relating to Elijah Hollands’ fitness to play against Collingwood in round seven.
The fine, which has been confirmed with two competition sources who chose to remain anonymous, will be paid to mental health service provider Headspace which provides mental health and wellbeing services for young people and their families.
An official announcement is expected later this afternoon with the review findings expected to be light on details as there is a WorkSafe investigation underway.
The AFL is also keen to use the findings to assist them in dealing with such issues in the future.
