Local trainer Brett Robb will be well represented at Sunday’s Dubbo meeting with the horseman saddling a number of runners.
Robb produced West Head for a fourth-placed finish in the TAB Highway at Hawkesbury on Saturday and will begin his home track assault on Sunday when starting Corky, Prophet’s Lass and Anders Diamond in the Elders Rural Country Boosted Maiden Plate (1000m).
Apprentice Izzy Neale, who claims 1.5 kilograms, takes the ride on Corky, with two kilo claimer Jordan Quince on Prophet’s Lass and Georgina McDonnell on Anders Diamond.
“All three of them have a chance,” said Robb.
“Corky has had the two starts and showed improvement when Izzy rode him the other day at Narromine when he led and wasn’t too far away when finishing fifth. He should be better again for the experience.
“Prophet’s Lass is an unraced filly that came to me from Tony and Calvin McEvoy and she’s had one trial since joining the stable for a dead heat win at Dubbo. She’s drawn well and Jordan sticks with her after she rode her in the trial.
“And Anders Diamond is a two-year-old colt on debut. He’s taking on the older horses, but he ran third in the same trial that Prophet’s Lass contested, and he looks to have ability.”
Robb will have two runners in the Totally Workwear Super Maiden Plate (1200m) in the shape of Adamana (Clayton Gallagher) and Marinera (Neale).
“They are both recent stable acquisitions as well,” Robb said. “Adamana comes from Andrew Noblet, and she’s shown talent with three placings from eight starts. She’s been doing well and I’m looking forward to seeing her in action.
“And Marinera has had one start for me since arriving from Bjorn Baker and she ran well when leading and finishing second at Mudgee last month. She’s come on well since that run.”
McDonnell will again combine with Robb when she rides last-start winner My Kind Of Girl in the Robertsons Motorcycles Country Boosted Benchmark 58 Handicap (1400m).
“She hit the line well to win at Dubbo when resuming from a spell and is set to run well again,” said Robb.
